The robotic cell was designed for resistance welding of car body parts. The station is equipped with a parts container, a Yaskawa robot with a gripper for moving parts, a 160 kVA inverter resistance welding machine with a welding device and a nut feeder.
The robot takes the part from the container, transports it to the welder, where the nuts are fed and welded. The finished parts are placed in a box. Additionally, the robot places cardboard spacers between subsequent layers of parts.
The device is controlled by a Siemens PLC controller with an HMI control panel and a TECNA welding parameter controller.
